Openaki Road - Road Closure (June 28 - October 1)
Beginning on or about Wednesday, June 28, 2023, Openaki Road will be closed between Mountainside Drive and Casterline Road in Denville Township from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday - Friday for approximately the next 3 months. Morris County Engineering Department’s contractor will begin a temporary breach of the dam and spillway for Lake Openaka, which is connected to the Openaki Road bridge. The primary detour for all traffic in this area will be via Mountainside Drive, Everdale Road, and Shongum Road. Detour signs and other traffic control measures will be in place during this construction to divert traffic. Expect Delays or Plan Alternate Routes. The work should be completed on or near October 1, 2023.
