Board of Adjustment

Overview

The Board of Adjustment is a semi-judicial board that hears development applications that are not in compliance with zoning regulations. These may include simple variance requests for setbacks on residential properties to large commercial projects for which the proposed use is not permitted. The board hears testimony and renders a decision based on the best interest of the township and its residents.

The board is made up of seven regular members plus two alternates. Regular members serve 4-year staggered terms; the alternates serve two years. Note that alternates only vote when a quorum of regular members is not present.

Meetings

Meetings are held at 7:30 pm, on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at Town Hall, located at 502 Millbrook Avenue, Randolph, NJ 07869. Please note: When the board does not have a full schedule, it will meet only once a month, on the 4th Thursday.
