On December 21, 2006, New Jersey’s governor signed the state’s civil unions bill into law, giving same-sex couples all the legal benefits, protections, rights, and responsibilities available under state law to married couples.
In order to get married in New Jersey, individuals must apply for and obtain a marriage license. In Randolph, marriage licenses are handled by the Randolph Township Registrar of Vital Statistics.
All births, deaths, marriages, civil unions, and domestic partnerships occurring within the township are recorded by the Randolph Township Registrar of Vital Statistics thus, copies of any of the aforementioned documents (non-genealogical records) may be obtained through this office.
