Please note: An Ordinance Amending Appendix A, Fee Schedule, of the Revised Ordinances of the Township of Randolph, Morris County, New Jersey Regarding Special Duty Police Officers
- Whereas, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:48-1, the governing body of a municipality may make, amend, repeal, and enforce ordinances to manage, regulate and control the finances and property of the municipality; and
- Whereas, the Township of Randolph desires to amend the Special Duty Police Officers Subsection of the Police Section of Appendix A, Fee Schedule, of the Revised Ordinances of the Township of Randolph, Morris County, New Jersey.
Now therefore be it ordained, by the Governing Body of the Township of Randolph, County of Morris, State of New Jersey, as follows:
The Special Duty Police Officers Subsection of the Police Section of Appendix A, Fee Schedule, of Revised Ordinances of the Township of Randolph, Morris County, New Jersey is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced by the following:
| Special Duty Police Officers An outside employer hiring off-duty police officer(s) must sign an Agreement (Exhibit A) to hold harmless and indemnify Randolph Township. The agreement outlines the coverage requirements to be provided by the outside employer. The police officer must have authority from the chief of police to provide the special duty service. | |

| Police Officer 4-hour minimum call out. For each outside detail that exceeds the 4-hour minimum, there shall be a 6-hour minimum call out. For each outside detail that exceeds the 6-hour minimum, there shall be an 8-hour minimum call out. Each outside detail that exceeds the 8-hour minimum shall be equal to the actual time worked by the officer. Cancellation of outside detail projects will be subject to the 2-hour cancellation policy. | 85.00/hour |

All Ordinances of the Township of Randolph which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed as to the extent of such inconsistency.
If any section, subsection, clause, or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the remaining portions of this Ordinance.
This Ordinance shall take effect as provided by law.

Ordinance Number 11-24
Notice is hereby given that an Ordinance entitled “An Ordinance Amending Appendix A, Fee Schedule, of the Revised Ordinances of the Township of Randolph, Morris County, New Jersey Regarding Special Duty Police Officer” was submitted in writing at a regular meeting of the Township Council of the Township of Randolph, County of Morris, State of New Jersey, held on May 23, 2024, and was introduced, read by title, and passed on first reading. The Governing Body of the Township of Randolph will further consider the Ordinance for second reading and final passage thereof at the regular meeting to be held on June 4, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. prevailing time at the Municipal Building in said Township located at 502 Millbrook Avenue, Randolph, New Jersey, at which time and place a public hearing thereon by the Governing Body and all parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard concerning said Ordinance.
Statement of Purpose of Ordinance
The purpose of the above Ordinance is to amend the Special Duty Police Officers Subsection of the Police Section of Appendix A, Fee Schedule, of the Revised Ordinances of the Township of Randolph, Morris County, New Jersey.
A copy of the full Ordinance is available to any member of the general public, at no cost, at the Randolph Township Municipal Building, Office of the Clerk, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
