 Overview

Fine Art Instruction for Pre-K to Adult

Class sessions are offered for fall, winter and spring along with several art camps during the summer. Special art workshops are offered throughout the year outside of the normal class schedule. All classes are held at the Artworks Studio, located at 502 Millbrook Avenue in Randolph, next to the municipal building. Winter 2026 Classes

Registration begins 9:00 AM on November 4, 2025 at our online registration site and in person at the community center on 30 Calais Road. Non-resident registration opens on November 25, 2025, with a $10 fee. For further information, call the Recreation Department at 973-989-7081. 

Refunds/Changes Policy: The Randolph Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services reserves the right to change class schedules, format, and instructors at Artworks Studio at any time. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable after December 5, 2025. All refunds/change requests require a submitted Withdrawal Form and will incur a $30 processing fee. Young Artist - Fee: $173 

Students experiment with a variety of mediums in our small class setting. Process-oriented lessons (in drawing, painting, printing, collage, and 3D design) enable your child to express their ideas while learning new skills creatively.

Art Exploration I - Fee: $190 (8 Weeks) | $200 (9 Weeks)

In this fun multimedia class, students learn the fundamentals of artmaking. Through our series of projects, they explore drawing, painting, printing, collage, and 3D design (clay, plaster, paper mache). Students will learn the elements and principles of art while self-expression and skill development are emphasized.

Art Exploration II - Fee: $218

This class is for students who want to continue to create art with the materials and skills they have used in Art Exploration I. They will continue to explore drawing, painting, mixed media and 3D design (clay, plaster, paper mache). Self-expression and creative problem-solving will continue to be encouraged.

Drawing & Painting - Fee: $208 (8 Weeks) | $218 (9 Weeks)

This class is for students who want to build a strong foundation for rendering while learning to use a variety of mediums (pastel, charcoal, pencil, acrylic, watercolor, pen, and ink). They will learn more about 2D fundamentals such as line, form, value, composition, perspective, and color. Still-life arrangements and photographs will be used for reference. All materials are supplied.

Teen Drawing & Painting - Fee: $218

The goal of this class is to further practice and develop students' rendering skills. It's an open studio format with instruction. Students can work from their own reference/project or be assigned one by the teacher. All 2D media forms are welcome and explored. Older students can work on portfolio pieces if they wish. All materials are supplied.

Teen Studio - Fee: $218

An open studio format focusing on the interest and growth of the individual student. This class offers the opportunity for new materials exploration or a more in-depth development of mastering skills, while receiving personal instruction, guidance and critique. All 2D and 3D media forms available. All materials supplied.

Adults  18+


Painting & Mixed Media for Adults - Fee: $260

This class is for the beginner as well as the experienced painter. Individually and at their own pace, students will be taught all the skills that need to be developed, such as drawing, composition, the mixing of colors, and various painting techniques. Acrylic painting on canvas is emphasized. Student artists may work with various media, such as watercolor, oil pastels, and collages on paper. Student artists individually choose to work from their own still life, photographs, or their imagination. All supplies included.
