Summer Camp
Overview
The Randolph Parks & Recreation Department and Artworks Studio staff are pleased to offer several summer camp programs. Our art camps are designed for ages Pre-K through Teens depending on the week. Campers will have fun expressing their creativity in either our full or half-day sessions, Monday through Friday. Participants will be exposed to a variety of art mediums/techniques while completing several projects throughout each program. All camps will be taught by experienced art instructors with several assistants in our air-conditioned facility located at 502 Millbrook Avenue (just behind the Randolph Municipal building).
Register online beginning Wednesday, February 1, 2023, or at the community center located at 30 Calais Road. Non-resident registration opens March 1, 2023, with a $10 fee. Summer Art Camps 2023
Week 1: Teen Camp
- June 19 through 23
- 9 am to 3 pm
- Who: Teens who have completed grades 6 through 12
- Fee: $300
- Instructor: Lauren Rudisill
Students will spend an unforgettable week working on art projects that will help hone their artistic skills and stimulate their imagination. The days are filled with drawing exercises, problem-solving challenges, introduction to new materials and skills along with a group project. Projects will include explorations in drawing, painting, and 3-D sculpture. Campers are to bring water, snack, and lunch.
Week 2: Mini-Camp Fun with Fiber and Fabric
- July 5, 6, 7
- 9 am to noon
- Who: Students entering grade 5 and completed grade 8
- Fee: $140
- Instructor: Jessica Cavaliere
Join us for a mini-camp of exploration as we work in various areas of fiber arts! In this hands-on creative camp, students will create works of art using different fiber mediums and textile techniques such as weaving, sewing, dying, and felting. Great for the young artist who wants to work with a new medium or improve their skills! Campers are to bring water and a snack.
Week 3: The Petting Zoo
- July 10 through 14
- 9 am to 3 pm
- Who: Students entering grade 2 and completed grade 5
- Fee: $360
- Instructors: Debbie Sasaki and Anne Marie Tatkow
Come with us on an adventure to "Artworks Petting Zoo!" Our petting zoo is a visual and tactile discovery of animals of the past, present, and future. This is no ordinary trip to the farm. It's an experience through time, touch, and the creative mind. Let's go! Campers are to bring water, snack, and lunch.
Week 4: Ancient Egypt
- July 17 through 21
- 9 am to noon
- Who: Students entering Kindergarten and completed grade 3
- Fee: $220
- Instructors: Lauren Rudisill and Jenna Bentley
This week we are traveling back in time and across the world to Ancient Egypt. We will find pyramids, palm trees, and camels walking through the sand. This incredible history and all the decorative art and costumes shine in the sun. Work with all types of materials while creating spectacular artwork. Try your hand at making Egyptian symbols and hieroglyphs! Campers are to bring water and a snack.
Week 5: Under the Sea
- July 24 through 28
- 9 am to noon
- Who: Students entering Kindergarten and completed grade 3
- Fee: $220

What is under the sea? Maybe it is a whole magical world underwater that we can only imagine. Sparkling jellyfish, magical seahorses, and sea monsters. This week we will take a dive into the ocean and explore life below the water. Create 3-D fish and unusual sea creatures. We will be using different materials and mediums to create beautiful underwater scenes. Imagination is a must! Campers are to bring water and a snack.
Week 6: Hawaiian Luau
- July 31 through August 4
- 9 am to noon
- Who: Students entering Kindergarten and completed grade 3
- Fee: $220

Aloha! It's time to catch a wave to Hawaii. Place your floral leis on and sit under a palm tree on the beach. Put an umbrella in your coconut and let's share a pineapple. Build your own tiki mask. Discover and create art based on some of Hawaii's most incredible cliffs and water. Campers are to bring water and a snack.
Week 7: Once Upon a Paintbrush
- August 21, 23, 24, 25
- 9:30 am to noon
- Who: Pre-K ages 3.5 through 6 years old
- Fee: $190
- Instructors: Stacy Currie and Jenna Bentley
Join young artists for a week of fun and creativity! We will be using our imagination to create our characters based on famous artists. We will be creating collage, sculpture, paint, and dioramas incorporating our characters. Your child will love learning about artists and creating characters during this fun and imaginative week! Campers are to bring water and a snack.
